Ron Castro was a veteran of the Vietnam War before joining the City of Santa Ana Fire Department. Most of his four decades as a firefighter were spent with Santa Ana until he joined Orange County Fire Authority when the agencies merged. Ron was well-known for his positive energy as well as his passion for golf and traveling. He succumbed to the effects of job-related cancer in November 2016.
