Trevor Lazar

Fire Captain

Trevor Lazar has built a career around training, mentorship, and a deep commitment to firefighter safety. Born and raised in Yorba Linda, he discovered his passion for the fire service early, taking fire technology classes as a high school sophomore, becoming a fire explorer, and serving as a reserve firefighter before joining OCFA full-time. Over the years, Trevor has promoted to captain and now serves as a Training Officer in the Operations Training & Safety section.

Trevor has spent his career giving back to OCFA in meaningful ways, including leading the Fire Ground Survival program, which focuses on firefighter survival and self-rescue. His dedication to sharing knowledge and ensuring the safety of his fellow firefighters reflects his strong commitment to the fire service.

Fire service runs deep in Trevor’s family. His great-grandfather and grandfather were firefighters in Indonesia, his father served with LA County, his uncle with Newport Beach, and several of his brothers are also in the fire service, including one with Anaheim, one with Newport Beach, and one with OCFA.

Trevor’s greatest passion off duty is spending time with his young son, and he also enjoys attending Anaheim Ducks and Angels games. Reflecting on his career, he says, “This is truly the greatest job. Never give up. All the effort is worth it.”

Trevor Lazar’s dedication, mentorship, and commitment to safety make him an invaluable member of OCFA, inspiring both new and seasoned firefighters alike.
