Mike Sheehan

Division Chief

Chief Mike Sheehan’s journey with the Orange County Fire Authority began in 1998 as a Paid Call Firefighter. A valedictorian of Academy 25 in 2002, he has spent more than two decades rising through the ranks with dedication and distinction. After six years of service as a Battalion Chief, he promoted into his role as Division Chief.

Throughout his career, Chief Sheehan has brought a spirit of service and innovation to every assignment. He has served in Investigations, Hazardous Materials, and as CATF-5 Plans Team Manager. As CAP Committee Chair, he has helped strengthen OCFA’s mission and enhance operational readiness across the organization.

Chief Sheehan is a lifelong learner, holding a Master’s degree in Emergency Services Administration and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He is also a proud graduate of the All-American Leadership Program, the Mission Centered Team Institute, and the Fox Hole Leadership Program.

Beyond his professional achievements, Chief Sheehan is deeply rooted in his community. He resides in Mission Viejo with his wife Anabella and their four children—Lauren, Andrew, Caden, and Brecken. His devotion to family and commitment to public service reflect the very values OCFA strives to uphold.
