Chet Burrows
Chet Burrows is a handcrew firefighter with the Orange County Fire Authority, bringing extensive training, experience, and dedication to his role. He began his fire service career on a brush engine in the Santa Monica Mountains with the Mountains Recreation Conservation Authority and continued as a member of the Inyo Hotshot Crew before joining OCFA’s El Toro Handcrew in 2020.
Chet is one of the highest-trained chainsaw operators on the crew, capable of safely mitigating complex and fire-weakened trees. He values the sense of accomplishment that comes from a hard day’s work and has been involved in significant responses, including the San Bernardino County Winter Snow Response, which remains a memorable experience for him.
Residing in Los Angeles with his fiancé Christina and their two daughters, Chet exemplifies dedication, work ethic, and a commitment to career development, actively pursuing his goal of becoming a career firefighter with OCFA. His contributions to the crew and the community, both locally and beyond, make him a valued member of the organization.
