Augie Romo
Augie Romo is a fire captain whose leadership, dedication, and commitment to the fire service have made a lasting impact on his colleagues and the community. He began his career in the fire service with San Diego City Fire before joining OCFA, where he has served in a variety of roles, including recruit instructor, truck academy instructor, and member of the Honor Guard. Throughout his career, Augie has valued the friendships and camaraderie that are at the heart of the fire service.
Augie and his family, including his wife and two sons, enjoy exploring the California coast together. He also has a passion for visiting new NFL stadiums and is known among his colleagues for his leatherworking and woodworking skills.
Augie shares an important lesson with his sons — and with future firefighters: “Attitude is everything. Be somebody who is moldable, teachable, and takes constructive criticism.” His guidance, skills, and dedication make Augie Romo a respected mentor, role model, and valued member of OCFA.
