Air Operations

Our highly advanced new two Bell 412 Firehawk helicopters are built to tackle California’s most intense wildfires, delivering fast, effective response and superior aerial support.

CA - Task Force 5

OCFA is the proud sponsor of California Task Force 5 (CA TF-5)—a highly specialized Urban Search & Rescue (US&R) team. Whether responding to earthquakes, hurricanes, or terrorist attacks, CA TF-5 deploys elite responders to support local agencies when disaster strikes.

Emergency Planning and Coordination

At the heart of OCFA’s preparedness efforts, the EPAC Section ensures seamless coordination and readiness for emergencies. Through strategic planning, inter-agency agreements, and homeland security grants management, EPAC keeps Orange County safe and connected.

Hazardous Material Response Team

The OCFA’s HMRT program operates two Type 1 Hazmat teams that provide technical expertise and guidance in mitigating and removing hazardous substances and may also investigate hazardous materials incidents. The team is comprised of highly trained specialists, often working in conjunction with other agencies like law enforcement and the Health Care Agency.
