Ryan Bishop

Interim Deputy Chief of Emergency Operations Bureau

Ryan Bishop is assigned as Interim Deputy Chief of the Emergency Operations Bureau.

Previously, Chief Bishop served as the Division Chief of Division 5, overseeing the cities of Aliso Viejo, Laguna Hills, Laguna Niguel, Laguna Woods, Lake Forest, and unincorporated areas of Orange County. A 30-year veteran of the Orange County Fire Authority, he has progressed through the ranks from Firefighter/Paramedic and Captain to Battalion Chief and Division Chief.

Throughout his career, Chief Bishop has served in a variety of leadership roles, including Truck Academy Instructor, Emergency Duty Officer, Vice President of Local 3631, and Vice President of the COA. He has also served as Battalion Chief in the Emergency Communications Center (ECC) and Battalion 4, and has contributed to numerous committees, including Health & Safety, Equipment, Staffing, and Training & Promotions. Chief Bishop holds a Bachelor of Science in Management.
